How to Load a Samsung Dishwasher: Avoid These Mistakes
The quality of the wash depends on many factors – the quality of the dishwasher itself, the quality of detergents you use for it, etc. Another important factor you should consider is how to load a Samsung dishwasher.
When loading a dishwasher, we have three main sections to use:
- upper rack – for mugs and small dishes;
- lower rack – for large dishes;
- removable cutlery tray – for knives, spoons and other cutlery we use to repel the food;
In Samsung dishwashers, the upper rack is designed mainly for mugs, glasses and other small stuff. You can set the upper rack height depending on your needs.
The basic rule for placing glasses and mugs says that they should be placed upside down and should not stand horizontally. This will let the water drain from their cavities.
Some dishwashers have special holders for placing wine glasses and stemware. You can use them in different ways depending on their shape.
Special holder is very important since the elongated shape of the glasses and their narrow neck make it difficult to wash them, and good wash requires the water jet from the spray arm to cover the inside part well.
This holder can also be used for the rational arrangement of small tea cups.
The left part of the upper basket has a rack for saucers and small bowls.
The arrangement of saucers should not cause any difficulties but the bowls must be placed randomly and they should not lean against each other – this will provide a high-quality wash.
If necessary, the upper rack can be completely removed – in some models additional spray elements are provided for that, but my dishwasher does not have them, so I’m not going to write about it.
This is the main rack in Samsung dishwashers. Some models of dishwashers offer a partial or complete transformation of the tray, especially for washing big kitchen ware.
When loading flat plates, one should adhere to the principle that larger plates should be placed at the edges, while smaller and deeper ones need to be put closer to the center. This kind of arrangement will provide a quality wash. Different types of plates don’t fit each other well – if the dishes belong to one set then the wash will be much more effective.
The rule for arrangement of bowls is similar to the one for the upper rack.
Loading kitchen utensils also have some subtleties.
Flat kitchen utensils (pans, trays, etc.) should be placed vertically as the wash will be much better and this kind of arrangement will allow water to wash the rest of the dishes as well.
Dishwashers have a basket transformation mechanism designed for cleaning large, deep pots.
It should be noted that in this case the pans should be placed like the glasses – with their bottoms up. With this kind of arrangement, the rest of the dishes will receive less water, so large kitchen utensils should be washed separately from the rest of the dishes.
If you place the dishes horizontally, it will block the water coming from the spray arms. The dishes themselves will be washed, but all the rest of the stuff will not or it will be cleaned much worse than usually.
