Resolve Noise Problems on an LG Dishwasher
LG dishwasher noise problems not only cause huge discomfort, but also serve as an indicator of certain issues which, in turn, may lead to costly repairs.
Faulty pump is one of the main causes of the noise coming from a dishwasher. The main function of the pump is to produce water pressure, and in most models it is also used for draining. The pump is located at the bottom of the dishwasher and usually consists of two separate compartments:
- one for washing dishes (circulation pump);
- another one – for draining used water.
With frequent use, the bearing of the circulation unit quickly wears out – it will take only 2-3 years before you face the need to replace it. According to experts, the newer the model of the dishwasher, the weaker graphite bearings it has.
O-ring or bearing
O-ring or bearing is the second most common cause of a malfunction. These parts look like plastic rings that seal spray units. The cause of the noise may be associated with worn bearing which prevents the system from functioning properly. Check the condition of the seal and the sealing ring and replace them if necessary.
