How Can You Resolve an LG Dishwasher Odor Problem?
It is very important to clean the dishwasher every few months to let it work efficiently. If you don’t do that, you will very soon see poorly washed plates, food residues stuck on the cups and face a very unpleasant LG dishwasher odor problem.
What do you need to do if your LG dishwasher has already begun to smell bad and clean poorly?
First, you need to clean the mesh filter which is usually located at the bottom of the dishwasher. You need to remove it and rinse it from the food residues and fat deposits. (Learn how to get it in your user’s manual);
Check spray arms as they may also contain small food particles and soap residues. To do this, you need to remove and inspect the consoles which spray water (you can learn about their location from user’s manual);
Now clean the dishwasher itself. There are three effective ways to do that:
- the first one which is elementary and eco-friendly implies pouring half the glass of soda on the bottom of the dishwasher and running empty dishwasher in any washing cycle. This method helps at the initial stages, when the odor is not yet very strong;
- the second way is rather cheap and simple – pour 1 cup of regular table vinegar on the bottom of an empty dishwasher and start a wash with the maximum temperature. At the end of the wash cycle, the smell will disappear and the dishwasher will look like brand new. Another useful feature of this method has to do with removing the scale from the tub;
- the third way is a good option for those who prefer to use chemicals – buy dishwasher cleaner in any specialized store and simply follow the instructions written on it. It is usually a container with a white and blue liquid inside. These means work very well – they cleanse and remove fat – but they also have some disadvantages: first of all, they contain various chemical compounds with surfactants and phosphates and therefore they are not environmentally friendly. Besides, the price of such cleaners is much higher than the price of soda and vinegar.
